"Can I Change My Mind" is a 1968 single recorded by soul singer Tyrone Davis. It was his featured debut and in early 1969 replaced Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It through the Grapevine" to become the number-one song on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart. Bill Deal and the Rhondels did a "Beach Music" version of the song as well. Jackie Mittoo's instrumental "Super Charge," on The Jackie Mittoo Showcase (Sonic Sounds LP, 1978), is a "riddim" version of the song. Gregory Isaac's contemporaneous vocal version, over Mittoo's instrumental track, "Can I Change My Mind," is included in an extended version with toasting by D.J. Ranking Barnabbas on Isaacs' 1990 CD "My Number One" (Heartbeat).
